Your setup guide

What this does

Walks you through everything between paying and taking your first order: business details, your products, the editor, compliance, payments, shipping, your domain and email, marketing, and going live.

Before you start

Nothing. It opens on its own the first time you arrive.

Steps

1. Select Setup guide in the bottom-right corner of any page.
2. Open a step to see what it needs and how it works, then use its button to go straight to the right place.
3. Steps tick themselves when the thing is actually done, so come back to the guide after each one.
4. When every required step is ticked, open Go live and select Publish and open my store.

What happens next

After you go live, Accept cards with Stripe unlocks. Card processors review the live site, so connecting once your research-ready store is on your domain is the safest order.

Common problems

I hid the guide. Open the account menu at the top right and select Setup guide.

A step will not tick. Each step is read from your store. Open it to see what is still missing.

Why is Torva emailing me about setup? Until your store is live, Torva emails the store's owners and admins from hello@torvaos.com: a welcome when your plan starts, a note naming your next step if setup stalls (after two days, then five), a reminder if your email domain or store domain is still verifying three days after you started it, and one offer of help a few days before your 30-day guarantee ends. At most one a day, and they stop once you are live. Reply to any of them and a person answers. To turn them off, switch off Setup tips in Settings → Email & notifications. Your welcome email and the email about your first order are sent either way.
