What this does

The Payments page is where you connect a payment processor, watch money move, and see the current state of every order's payment.

Before you start

  • Owner or admin permissions.
  • Your business details, and a bank account the money should land in.

Steps

  1. Open Payments.
  2. Select Set up payments and choose Stripe.
  3. Complete Stripe's onboarding in the panel that opens. Torva never handles your Stripe password or your bank details — Stripe collects them directly.
  4. Return to Torva. The page shows your connection as live once Stripe confirms it.

What happens next

Once a processor is live, checkout offers card payment. Money goes to your processor, which pays out to your bank on its own schedule — Torva does not hold your money at any point.

Pay-by-app methods (Zelle, Cash App, Venmo) are separate: they can be switched on in settings and are confirmed by hand, because no money moves through Torva for them.

Common problems

It says a processor is connected but not live. Stripe has not finished verifying you. Open the connection and Stripe will say what it still needs — usually identity documents or a bank account.

I connected Stripe but checkout still will not take a card. Check that the connection is live rather than pending, and that your store itself is published.

I use Authorize.net or NMI. You can take payments with them, but Torva cannot issue refunds through them yet — you refund in the gateway's own dashboard and record it in Torva. See Issue a refund.
