Add your first product

What this does

Creates a product and its first variant in one step, so you have something to sell.

Before you start

• A name, a price, and ideally a SKU you will recognise on a shelf.

Steps

1. Open Products and select Add product.
2. Enter the title. Torva suggests a web address from it, which you can change.
3. Enter the price. Prices are entered in your store's currency.
4. Add a SKU if you track stock by one.
5. Save.

What happens next

The product is created as a draft. Edit it to add a description, images, documents and more variants, then set it to active when you want it in your storefront.

Common problems

It says the web address is taken. Another product already uses that slug. Change it — it has to be unique in your store.

The compare-at price is refused. A compare-at price is the higher "was" price, so it cannot be below the price you are actually charging.

I need more than one size or strength. Add variants to the product after creating it. Each variant carries its own price, SKU and stock.
