What this does
Your customer list, with what each has spent and when they last ordered, and segments for writing to a group of them.
Before you start
Nothing.
Steps
- Open Customers.
- Use a segment to narrow the list — repeat buyers, customers who have spent over an amount, customers who have gone quiet.
- Select a customer to see their orders and history.
- From a segment, you can send an email to everyone in it who has consented to marketing.
What happens next
Segments are worked out live from orders, so they are never stale. A customer who buys again today moves into "repeat buyers" today.
Marketing email only ever goes to customers who have consented. Torva enforces that rather than trusting the sender to remember.
Common problems
A customer appears twice. Guest orders are matched by email. Two different email addresses are two customers as far as Torva can tell.
My segment says fewer people than I expected. The sendable count excludes anyone who has not consented to marketing or who has unsubscribed.
A customer asked me to delete their data. See Privacy requests.
Still stuck?
Ask Torva from inside your account. It knows everything in this article and can also see what your own store is currently doing, so it can answer for your situation rather than in general.
