What it means for a research store
Underwriters check identity and ownership (KYC), business registration, bank details and processing history, and they read the live website. On the site they look for what is sold, how it is described, whether policies exist (refunds, shipping, privacy, terms), whether contact details are real and whether the checkout matches the stated business.
Underwriting is not a single event. Processors monitor accounts and re-review after triggers such as a sudden volume increase, a spike in disputes, a change in products or a complaint. That is why stores in sensitive categories often report reviews after a strong month.
Preparation helps: publish complete policies, a working contact page and accurate product pages before applying, keep copy free of health and dosing claims, and make sure what you describe in the application matches what is on the site. Save copies of what you submitted. This is general information; each processor sets its own criteria.
How Torva OS handles it
Torva OS unlocks card processing in the setup guide only after the research-ready store is live on the merchant’s own domain, because processors review the live site. Its policy reviewer checks that shipping, returns, privacy and terms pages exist and are complete.
