What it means for a research store
An MCP server describes the tools it offers (for example, “list orders” or “update a page draft”) and the resources it can read. An MCP client, such as Claude or another assistant, discovers those tools and calls them on the user’s behalf. Remote servers commonly use OAuth so the user signs in and grants access without sharing a password or API key with the assistant.
For a store, MCP turns an assistant into an operator’s helper: asking questions about recent orders, drafting product copy or email in the store’s own system, or checking content reviews, with the store’s permissions deciding what the assistant can see and change.
Scope and review are the safeguards. Prefer read access unless write access is needed, keep write tools producing drafts rather than publishing, and make sure copy written by an assistant goes through the same claim review as copy written by a person.
How Torva OS handles it
Claude and other MCP clients can connect to a Torva OS store through an OAuth connector: read access on Growth; read plus storefront and email draft editing on Command. Nothing publishes or sends without the merchant. See connect Claude to your store.
