What each order actually leaves you.
Revenue hides the costs that arrive one order at a time: landed product, testing spread across a lot, packaging, postage, payment fees, affiliate commission and refunds. Put in your own numbers and see contribution per order, the most you can pay to win an order, and what the month looks like after fixed costs.

Reading the result
Four numbers worth knowing before you spend on growth.
Contribution per order
Order value minus every cost that comes with the order. If this is thin, no amount of volume fixes it; price, product cost or order size has to change first.
Break-even cost per new order
The ceiling on what an ad, a creator or a promotion can cost per order before that first order loses money. Compare it with what you are actually paying, not with what a platform reports.
Break-even counting reorders
Contribution over a customer’s first year. Useful once you have your own reorder data, dangerous before, because it lets you justify spend on reorders that may not come.
Orders to cover the month
Fixed costs and ads divided by contribution per order. It tells you how many orders the month needs before anything is left for you.

How to Start an RUO Peptide Company: 2026 Playbook
The whole plan in one place, from someone who runs an RUO store: the business model, entity and banking, suppliers and landed cost, testing every lot, what reviewers look at on your site, payments on more than one rail, fulfilment, email, organic growth, unit economics and a 12-week timeline.
Cost to Start a Research Peptide Business
Setup is the small number. The costs that decide whether the business survives are the reserve, the testing cadence and the second payment path — and most plans have none of them.
Is It Legal to Sell Research Peptides Online?
There is no peptide licence to apply for. What decides the answer is intended use — and under the FD&C Act your marketing, not your disclaimer, is what establishes it.
Are Research Peptide Businesses Profitable?
Per-order margins in this category can look wide. Whether the business makes money depends on what each order really costs, what it costs to win one, and whether cash and payments keep flowing. Here is the arithmetic, line by line.
Is an RUO Peptide Supplier Legit? How to Tell
“Research use only” is a label, not a quality mark. Here is how to judge a research-supply store or supplier from what it publishes: certificates by lot from a lab you can contact, real policies, a real business, and how it asks to be paid.

What is contribution per order?
What one order leaves after every cost that comes with it: product, testing, packaging, shipping you pay, packing time, payment fees, affiliate commission and refunds. It is the money available to pay for acquisition, fixed costs and you. It is not profit.
What is a break-even cost per order?
The most you can spend to win an order and not lose money on that order. In the example it is $92.33. Counting the reorders a customer places in their first year it rises to $166.19, but only if those reorders actually happen. Spend against the first number until your own repeat data supports the second.
Why is testing a per-order cost?
Because a store that publishes a certificate for every lot pays for a test every time it restocks a product. Divide the price of a test by the number of orders one lot serves and you have what testing costs each order. Short catalogs and bigger lots make it smaller.
What payment fee should I enter?
A blended rate across the ways customers actually pay you. Card fees for this category are often above mainstream rates, and pay-by-app transfers may cost little or nothing but take staff time to match. If most orders come through one rail, lean the rate toward it.
Is anything I type saved or sent?
