What this does
Buys real postage for an order through your own carrier account, shows you the price before you pay it, and stores the label so you can print it again later.
Before you start
- An EasyPost account of your own. Torva buys on your account at your rates; it does not resell postage.
- A ship-from address and a default package size saved in Settings → Shipping & fulfilment.
Steps
- Go to Settings → Shipping & fulfilment and connect EasyPost.
- Save your ship-from address and default package dimensions and weight.
- Open Shipping and find the order.
- Select Get rates. Torva asks the carriers what this parcel costs to that address.
- Choose a rate and select Buy. Nothing is bought until you press the price.
- Select Print label.
What happens next
The label and its tracking number are stored on the order, so closing the tab does not lose either. Tracking updates come back on their own and move the order through in transit and delivered.
Common problems
No rates came back. Usually the address or the parcel. Check the ship-from address is complete and that the package has a weight.
It says my account is in a different mode. An EasyPost key beginning EZTK is a test key and buys test labels. A live key begins EZAK.
I bought a label by mistake. Refund it from the fulfilment record before cancelling. Torva will not let you cancel around paid postage.
